Los Angeles-based Rehrig Pacific Co. has introduced a new line of containers that the company says are an alternative to metal and plastic commercial containers currently available. Rehrig says it developed the new container after receiving input from customers and industry groups.
“Throughout the years, we’ve worked with municipalities and haulers to identify their needs and develop innovative products that provide efficient solutions for the industry,” says Shawn Kruse, manager of Rehrig’s Commercial Container Business. “Our new plastic containers weigh one-third less than comparable metal containers, yet are engineered to last longer and reduce or eliminate most repair costs.”
Both the rear- and front-load containers are manufactured with high-impact, UV-stabilized, 100 percent recyclable polyethylene resin that does not rust, cleans easily and does not need painted.
“Rehrig’s front-load container design is truly unique with its replaceable pocket sleeves with integrally molded-in bumpers that add sidewall thickness and protection against punctures and repeated impacts,” says Kruse. “Our engineers included standard features in both models that reinforce strength and durability as well as ease of use,” he adds.
Rehrig’s designs include molded floor beams and stepped sidewalls, which provide extra stiffness for support against sagging and bowing and the rigid crowned lids resist droop and prevent water collection.
