Oil Quick Coupler

ALLU Group Inc., Teterboro, N.J., has introduced the OilQuick system, a hydraulic and mechanical quick-connect device for wheeled loaders, excavators and forklift trucks that allows operators to change out carrier attachments without leaving the machine cab, to the North American market. “Most quick-connect systems are mount-plate-only systems, requiring either the machine operator or a ground man to physically disconnect and reconnect hydraulic hoses,” according to a press release from ALLU. “Not only is this time-consuming, particularly in cold or inclement weather, it is also a safety issue, with the potential for hot oil burns or physical injury (or even death) from an unanticipated release of an attachment.” According to ALLU, its OilQuick system bypasses the possible risk, “potentially resulting in better OSHA mod rates,” and possibly providing a company with “reduced labor expenses, improved equipment productivity and more motivated employees.” ALLU began marketing and using the OilQuick throughout Europe about five years ago. The company claims it became popular with the demolition and inner-city pipeline contractors. The OilQuick features a hydraulic system that allows the machine operator to switch from one attachment to another in less than 10 seconds. Almost 5,000 OilQuick systems have been supplied throughout Europe. “The reliability and exceptional performance of OilQuick were the deciding factors to include this tool in the ALLU product line in North America,” according to the company. OilQuick systems—which are equipped with a coupling unit for automatic connection of hydraulic hoses and electrical power, if necessary, to the attachments—are sold and serviced for excavators, loaders and forklift trucks throughout North America through ALLU.
