EXC80 Screening Bucket Attachment

Flip Screen Australia Pty Ltd., with U.S. offices in Northampton, Mass., has introduced the EX80 screening bucket attachment, which it describes as “a more rugged version of the E80 model.” Flip Screen says that the EX80 is designed for use in road building, construction, demolition, landfill, mining, public works, railway and waste and recycling applications.

The EX80 is suitable for use with 20- to 27-ton excavators. It can replace the excavator’s bucket rotates on a 360-degree horizontal axis. An interchangeable screen allows smaller particles to pass, depending on the screen’s mesh size, while a baffle retains larger material so that it can be dumped separately.
The drive chain is capable of lifting loads up to 24-metric tons, and self-aligning main bearings can handle a 64-metric ton static load, the company says. For added versatility, the EX80 can double as the excavator’s bucket and is capable of digging at the full breakout force without worry of structural failure, Flip Screen adds.
A single Eaton hydraulic motor powers the bucket rotation, with rotation speed dependent on hydraulic flow and variable between 18 to 25 revolutions per minute (RPM).
Including its mesh screen, the EX80 weighs 4,650 pounds. The unit features a bucket opening of 47 inches wide by 24 inches high and has a capacity of roughly 1 cubic yard. The attachment’s total screening surface area is 37 square feet, according to the manufacturer.
Seven high-tensile steel mesh screens are offered for the EX80, ranging in size from 0.5 inch to 4 inches, with custom sizes available upon request. The unit comes equipped with choice of one mesh screen, and additional screens are available at an extra cost.
The Flip Screen product is marketed and sold in North America by Flip Screen USA. More information is available by e-mailing info@flipscreen.net or visiting www.flipscreen.net.
