The EW 160B is the second machine in Volvo’s new line of wheeled excavators. It has an operating weight of 17.5 tons, a maximum digging depth and dump height of 20 feet, 8 inches and 25 feet, 3 inches, respectively. Powered by the Volvo D6D six-cylinder, 138 hp engine, it has three-speed Power Shift transmission. The EW 160B can reach 21.7 mph and has an automatic speed retardation system that is activated for safety purposes when the machine is being operated at full throttle on downhill grades. It has breakout force of 25,066 pounds.
