WasteWizer launches new cradle-to-house BinBar scale

The weighing technology enables companies to see the weight of roll-off containers in real time.

WasteWizer Technologies, the Atlanta-based inventor of the BinBar Technology System that provides on-site container weight tracking, has launched the new BinBar cradle.

The cradle can be permanently installed at a waste generator’s location to collect consistent weight data without requiring direct interaction with a waste hauler during container loading or unloading.

The weight data enables enhanced sustainability efforts, increased revenues by reducing landfill and hauling costs and helps to optimize operations by dispatching drivers only when containers are ready for pick up, WasteWizer says.

The BinBar hardware sits under roll-off containers and transmits weight and fullness data back to the WasteWizer online dashboard.

Every BinBar measures the weight of the attached container several times per hour. Securely sent to the cloud, this weight data is available in users’ WasteWizer accounts.

Managers can view all their containers at a glance or drill down on specific details for a single container. Multiple logins can be created for anyone who needs access to data, including dispatchers, haulers and managers.

Attendees at WasteExpo in New Orleans can see the new BinBar cradle, which is used by waste, scrap and hazardous waste companies nationwide, at Booth No. 909 through May 4.

WasteWizer says its weight-sensing technology is accurate and durable in harsh dumpster environments.

“The new cradle assembly removes a driver’s need to roll the BinBar under the container,” WasteWizer co-founder and CEO Thomas Spencer says. “The driver can now set the container down directly on a customer site without interacting with the BinBar, thus enabling a smoother installation process.”

WasteWizer says its proprietary weight-sensing technology allows companies to increase efficiencies by knowing the weight of containers in real time so drivers can be dispatched when containers are truly full instead of picking up underloaded or overloaded containers.

A product of Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center, a business incubator, WasteWizer completed the university’s Create-X Startup Launch program and was selected as a showcase presenter for the 2020 Venture Atlanta, which the company says is the largest investor showcase in the Southeast.

Additionally, WasteWizer competed as a semifinalist in Atlanta Startup Battle 2020. Only 12 out of 400 companies were selected as semifinalists. WasteWizer also was chosen as a Technology Association of Georgia Top 40 Most Innovative Company in 2022.
