The National Waste & Recycling Association (NWRA), Arlington, Virginia, following discussions with its board of trustees, Trade Show Task Force and Informa, has announced that it will continue to partner with Informa on WasteExpo. However, beginning May 3 – 6, 2027, the event will transition to a biennial format, with NWRA and Informa having finalized a four-show contract through 2033.
The news was shared via a letter to NWRA members signed by NWRA President and CEO Michael E. Hoffman and Donald P. Ross, chair of the NWRA board of trustees and chief sales officer at New Way Trucks.
NWRA says the move is designed to better align with product innovation cycles, reduce exhibitor costs and deliver a better show experience for exhibitors and attendees. “By moving to a two-year cycle, our exhibitors and attendees will showcase and experience larger product launches, expanded exhibits and new technologies—ensuring that each WasteExpo delivers a stronger return on investment and a greater opportunity for meaningful connections,” the letter reads.
The Waste Summit
In the even-numbered years between WasteExpo events, NWRA and Informa will launch The Waste Summit. Starting in 2026, The Waste Summit will focus on education, innovation and relationship building through two days of general sessions, networking activities and an Awards Gala, NWRA says. The inaugural event is being planned for the week of May 18, 2026, in the nation’s capital.

More details will be revealed at WasteExpo 2025 in Las Vegas, May 5-8. Informa will host an informational office on-site, where exhibitors and attendees can learn more about rebooking opportunities for 2027 and The Waste Summit in 2026.
NWRA says it encourages all exhibitors and partners to visit the office to explore how the changes will create more impactful opportunities for growth and connection.
