Takeuchi adds dealer in Georgia

Atlanta-based compact construction equipment provider Takeuchi-US says Jasper Tractor will now carry the full Takeuchi product line and offer to it a portion of northern Georgia.

The Jasper, Georgia-based dealer is described by Takeuchi-US as selling and servicing several lines of agriculture and turf management equipment. For Takeuchi, Jasper Tractor will cover a territory that includes the cities of Whitfield, Murray, Gilmer, Gordon and Pickens in northern Georgia.

“Going back to the early 1970s, when Takeuchi developed the first compact excavator, and then to the mid-1980s, when they released the first compact track loader, they’ve been an innovator and leader in the compact equipment industry,” says Zach Cagle, a vice president of Jasper Tractor.

“Our goal is to take Takeuchi’s foundation of a quality product, deliver those products to our customers, and then provide the best possible ownership experience,” adds Cagle.

Drew Tutton, Jasper Tractor’s president and CEO, began his career in the automotive business and currently oversees and manages multiple automotive dealerships and a recreational vehicle (RV) dealership in the Jasper area.

Cagle grew up on his family’s dairy farm, where he became familiar with equipment used in that sector. In March 2023, Tutton and Cagle combined their expertise and interests to open Jasper Tractor.

“Drew and Zach have done an outstanding job of establishing Jasper Tractor over the past two years,” says Eric Wenzel, Southeast regional business manager for Takeuchi-US. “They’ve already garnered a reputation for excellence in a short period of time. We’re pleased to have them representing the Takeuchi brand in North Central Georgia, and we look forward to a long and successful partnership.”

Japan-based Takeuchi manufactures a line of compact track loaders, compact excavators and compact wheel loaders, and credits itself as being the first company to introduce the compact excavator to North America. That move, says Takeuchi, set the stage “for one of the highest growth product segments ever introduced in the compact equipment market.”
