Crews at a manufacturing facility in Arizona operated by Superior Industries Inc. recently celebrated the first piece of finished equipment to exit the newly expanded facility.
The facility in Prescott Valley, Arizona, located in the central part of the state, now includes a third equipment production line that focuses on nontelescoping portable conveyors.
“This means we can reserve the existing lines of production to be more product specific,” says Jason Adams, Superior President Jason Adams says. “Most notably, it’s really going to take stress off TeleStacker conveyor production in Arizona and allow us to produce more of these high-demand telescoping stackers.”
Along with the new line for nontelescoping portable conveyors, the Prescott Valley facility also hosts a new idler manufacturing setup also launched in Minnesota earlier this year. The investment in machinery, robotics and automation significantly increases conveyor idler throughput companywide, Superior says.
“The headline says more manufacturing space out West, but this is going to have a positive effect on all of our operations and improve lead times across the board,” Adams says.
Superior is based in Morris, Minnesota, and makes crushing, screening, washing and conveying systems and provides comprehensive parts and services support, with its focus on the construction aggregates sector. The company has five production facilities in the United States, plus international manufacturing locations in Canada, Brazil and Asia.
