Recycling Equipment Manufacturing expands team

Company appoints Joshua Burns as vice president of sales and Garry Hojan as general manager.

Recycling Equipment Manufacturing Inc. (REM), a Priest River, Idaho-based provider of recycling and beverage destruction equipment, has announced the appointment of Joshua Burns as vice president of sales. In addition, Garry Hojan has been appointed as general manager.

In collaboration with the REM executive team, Burns’ new role focuses on maintaining and enhancing existing client relationships while pursuing new accounts and business development, according to a REM news release.

“Josh has been a longtime valued employee with REM and it was a natural progression for him to take on this leadership role within the company’s executive management” states Mark Blankenship, REM president. “With over fifteen years of success selling to the c-suite in waste management and recycling industries and strategic leadership experience, he was the obvious choice to lead our sales efforts in not just meeting but exceeding our company objectives for 2019 and beyond. In addition, Josh and his team will play a critical role in representing the needs of waste management and recycling industries that will shape the products and services we deliver in the future.”

“I am excited about being part of the REM leadership team,” Burns says. “Their unparalleled commitment to providing quality equipment and customer support has always been in complete alignment with my personal and professional philosophy. We have a strategic and innovative vision for the company, and I’m thrilled to be a part of this continued growth.”

With extensive management experience spanning nearly three decades, Hojan brings valuable leadership to REM’s executive team during a period of growth. As general manager, Hojan will lead operations and direct the company’s finance and administrative functions.

“Garry joins REM with a wealth of operational and financial management experience at both mid-sized and large companies,” Blankenship says. “We are thrilled to have a steady hand at the operational helm as we continue to expand our product line and broaden our customer base.”

Prior to joining REM, Hojan acted as CEO of an aerospace manufacturing company. During his 16-year tenure, he oversaw merger and acquisition and diversification activities. Beyond operations and finance management, he was responsible for all aspects of strategic planning, manufacturing and customer service.

“REM is experiencing growth with the success of its existing product mix in conveyors and beverage destruction,” Hojan says. “It is a tremendous pleasure to join Mark and the REM team, and I am excited and eager to help further the company’s success.”
