Schaumburg, Illinois-based Palfinger has introduced the HT 500 Hooklift, a heavy-duty hook lift with advanced safety features and a 50,000-pound lifting capacity.

With new adjustable and removable container rests as well as rear container locks, the HT 500 can accommodate various container lengths from 16 to 22 feet. Innovations include an automatic cycle feature that can speed up loading and unloading of empty containers by 30 percent, according to the manufacturer, as well as an optional wireless remote.

“The HT 500 Hooklift was built around safety, comfort and durability,” says James Hanson, Palfinger North America director of sales, hooklifts and cable hoists. “We are offering enhanced operational efficiency and reliability while ensuring the highest levels of safety for operators. We are proud to bring such a product to the market, one that truly embodies our vision of leading with quality and safeguarding our customers’ investments and trust.”

The HT 500 introduces advanced safety features including a PAD remote control for managing loads straight from the cab, emergency stop buttons, a redesigned safety latch, optional side protection and a European-style hydraulic bumper for enhanced stability.

Additional features include a new subframe design with upgraded crossbeams increase stability and provide increased resistance against chassis torsion, according to Palfinger. A low-profile bogie system allows containers to be lowered to the ground and give a lower center of gravity, and an extendable, hydraulic rear bumper can accommodate 24-foot containers.

The new hook design incorporates a safety latch, allowing the container to lock into the hook, eliminating bouncing. Additionally, the new system can accommodate the integration of add-ons that run off hydraulics, such as a tarper, salt spreader or snow plow.
