Niagara Metals, based in Niagara Falls, New York, has opened a fourth facility in the western New York community of Cheektowaga.
A notice on the company’s website says Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015, served as a grand opening celebration day in Cheektowaga, with the scales open for business, hot dogs being served and membership cards available to customers who wished to apply.
The company is purchasing ferrous and nonferrous metals at the new location, including end-of-life vehicles and wire and cable.
The new 15,000-square-foot location is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It joins the company’s previous locations in Niagara Falls, Buffalo and Royalton, New York.
Niagara Metals was founded in 2006 by its current president Todd Levin, whose family had previously been in the scrap business as the operators of western New York-based Louis Levin & Co., which was sold to Metalico Inc. in 1998.
Niagara Metals was the subject of a Recycling Today profile story in April 2010.
