SSI Compaction Systems, a division of SSI Shredding Systems Inc. of Wilsonville, Ore., has introduced a new materials compression machine called The CrusherTM.

The "Crusher" has been engineered “specifically for the ever-changing needs of today’s scrap and recycling markets,” according to the company.

SSI says its versatile machine is a single-cylinder, mobile compactor that processes bulk-fed light scrap metals, white goods and other recyclable commodities. “The Crusher is built for rapid loading and flexible solutions for scrap and recycling commodities generators, landfills, transfer stations, MRF’s and industrial recycling operations,” the company notes in a news release.

SSI cites as The "Crusher’s" advantages:

30 tons per hour throughput - (six 5-ton bales per hour of white goods and light scrap)

Remote operation and storage of compacted bales

Reduced bailing, loading and cycle times

Direct discharge to transfer trailer or container

                     Optimal density for auto shredders

Can be used at remote locations

Small staging area, quick turnaround time and low transportation costs

                     Maximal payloads

                     Can serve multiple facilities

                     Mitigates permitting issues.
