Lexington, North Carolina-based National Equipment Dealers LLC (NED) says it has finalized its acquisition of Crosby Equipment Co., a fellow Hyundai Construction Equipment Dealer based in middle and south Georgia.
Crosby Equipment, a family-owned business with locations in Douglas and Macon, Georgia, has been carrying the Hyundai Construction Equipment product line since 2014. According to NED, Crosby has subsequently been able to cater to the heavy construction and forestry sectors, including general contractors, land clearing contractors, site developers, forestry and mulching companies.
“Over the years we enjoyed building our business by developing loyal relationships with people we know in our communities,” says Jerome Crosby, former owner and CEO of Crosby Equipment Co.
Now that it is part of NED, Crosby Equipment will change its name to match that organization.
“NED will expand the current Crosby Equipment business model to include a significant rental equipment fleet, as well as several new brands that will round out their product offering," NED Vice President Will Blackerby says.
In addition to the Hyundai Construction Equipment line, the new NED Douglas and NED Macon branches now will represent Fuchs material handlers, BTA hammers, Prinoth mulching equipment, Barko forestry mulching equipment, Bell dump trucks and track trucks, Fiori dumpers, Sakai soil compaction products, XCMG construction equipment, Manitou compact equipment and other brands and attachments represented by NED.
“I am excited for the future of Crosby’s employees and customers,” Jerome Crosby says. “Like Crosby Equipment, NED is also a family-oriented company, with many new brands and resources that will expand and improve the company’s product offerings and customer support throughout Georgia.”
NED now has 18 locations in five states: Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and Florida. The Crosby acquisition follows one completed just last month in the Carolinas.
