The National Demolition Association (NDA) has released a map of construction and demolition (C&D) landfills across the country. The database, which is available for NDA members, was compiled by the association’s Environmental Committee with help from Gershman, Brickner & Bratton Inc. (GBB), McLean, Virginia.
C&D landfills are regulated by individual states, and the materials accepted vary by site. C&D materials containing hazardous material such as lead and asbestos are regulated by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and its disposal must meet certain requirements.
According to NDA, the map presently features 1,191 operators from 39 states and will be regularly updated.
