Mazza Recycling Services, headquartered in Tinton Falls, New Jersey, has announced the acquisition of a transfer station in Philadelphia from AMA Resources that it says significantly enhances the company's ability to serve the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley regions, providing more efficient and reliable waste disposal and recycling services. The transfer station will operate under Mazza’s Liberty division, doing business as Liberty Transfer Station LLC.
Mazza Recycling, a leading provider of recycling and waste management solutions in central and southern New Jersey, acquired Liberty Waste & Recycling of Moorestown, New Jersey, in March of last year with intentions of using the operation as a platform for the Mazza family of companies to expand its market area to the Philadelphia suburbs, saying it positioned Mazza Recycling “as an attractive partner for potential acquisitions down the line.”
AMA Resources, headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, is a woman-owned family business serving the Mid-Atlantic region with services that range from C&D recycling to Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) recycling and management to special waste and recycling disposal.
The newly acquired transfer station in southwest Philadelphia is designed to streamline waste processing, reduce transportation times and optimize resource recovery. At Liberty Transfer Station LLC, Mazza Recycling says it can accept, transfer and recycle various construction and demolition debris in a cost-effective, sustainable manner while also providing a high-caliber customer experience. The company adds that the investment highlights Mazza Recycling’s commitment to providing sustainable and cost-effective waste management solutions to businesses and residents throughout the region.
With the AMA acquisition, Mazza Recycling also acquires a large-scale event work platform business line. This division offers tractor-trailer service from jobsites direct to landfills across the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions.
“As the Mazza family of companies continues to expand our footprint across state lines, we promise to continually provide additional infrastructure and disposal capacity to our current and future customers," says Mazza Recycling President and CEO Jimmy Mazza. "This expansion into Philadelphia provides a platform for future growth, and we look forward to providing excellent service in this new marketplace."
Mazza Recycling says the transfer station will offer a range of services, including solid waste transfer, construction and demolition debris processing and recycling and resource recovery.
The Mazza family of companies consists of Mazza Recycling Services Ltd., Mazza Mulch, Mazza Scrap Recycling, Liberty Waste & Recycling Services and Liberty Transfer Station LLC. Mazza Recycling is a family-owned and operated company specializing in waste collection, recycling and disposal services that brings more than 200 years of combined managerial experience in the waste management industry.
