Construction and material handling equipment producer Liebherr has made plans to showcase what it calls purpose-built demolition excavators during the Live DEMOlition Event portion of the National Demolition Association (NDA) 2025 annual convention.

The convention, also called Demolition New Orleans, takes place this March 5-8 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  Liebherr models to be demonstrated include the R 938, R 934 and R 945 crawler excavators and the LH 22 M material handler, says the firm. “Attendees will also be able to get hands-on with these machines at the Live DEMOlition Event and Operators Challenge,” states Liebherr.

Liebherr, which is based in Europe and has a growing production facility in Newport News, Virginia, says it will have “multiple product experts onsite” at its Demolition New Orleans booth.

The company says it offers a wide range of crawler excavators and refers to itself as “one of the major players in the manufacturing of equipment for special applications, including demolition, tunnel construction or handling as well as other industry-specific needs.”

Liebherr says its Generation 8 crawler excavators provide operators with higher bucket capacities, optimized fuel consumption and higher engine power. “These new machines have been completely revamped to better serve customer needs,” states the company.

The firm says its Generation 8 crawler excavators offer improved engine power and are equipped with a boom concept with a modified head, designed to provide operators with an optimized load curve, “leading to better fuel savings on site.”

The company’s LH 22 M is part of a product line Liebherr says is specially designed for use in demolition applications. “The optimized design of the 141 horsepower engine supplies a high torque output for fast and strong movements,” says Liebherr.

Adds the firm, “Load peaks are cleverly compensated for to ensure that maximum torque is available at all times for highest handling capacity.”
