One of the most recognizable brands in the waste and recycling industry is getting a new name. Denver-based Komptech Americas has announced it will expand its product portfolio under the name Viably.

For over a decade, Komptech Americas has been a trusted leader in industrial waste processing technologies. The company supports more than 500 small and medium-sized businesses, enterprises and municipal clients across North America with consultative sales, rentals, parts, technical service and support.

“We’re proud to continue as the master distributor of Komptech across North America,” explains Viably President Brandon Lapsys, who has been with Komptech Americas since 2008. “But as Viably, we can use our past experience, new partnerships and understanding of current and emerging technologies to do more to improve capability and profitability for waste and recycling customers.”

To prepare for the launch of the new brand, Viably has been seeking additional partnerships and innovative solutions to deliver new possibilities for organics, construction and demolition (C&D), municipal solid waste (MSW), and single-stream recycling clients.

The global search has already started to pay off. Alongside new additions to the current lineup of Komptech machines, Viably now offers customers the Turbo Separator, a highly effective food waste depackager manufactured by Scott Equipment Company. This industry-proven system recovers up to 99 percent of valuable organics, cleanly separating it from consumer and industrial packaging.

The Viably team also supports C&D waste processors with valuable separation technology. GypStream, from Scott Equipment Company, is a material separation system that successfully separates pure gypsum powder from the paper backing in discarded drywall. With GypStream, C&D processors achieve a consistently clean, high-quality and recyclable commodity material for resale or repurpose.

“Both these waste separation systems are perfect examples of how Viably can and will help our customers increase their capabilities, reduce landfill costs and generate new revenue streams,” says Lapsys. “And there will be more.”
