United Kingdom-based JCB Corp., which has a United States business unit based in Savannah, Georgia, is displaying several compact equipment models at the American Rental Association (ARA) Show in New Orleans this week.
The company has displayed several of its latest offerings in the lift and access market as well as new compaction equipment that debuted last month, and notes that several other machines of "significant interest" to the rental market also will be on display.
Of interest to demolition and construction contractors, a JCB 19C-1E battery-electric mini excavator is described by JCB as the "perfect solution" for contractors who need to operate in emissions-restricted areas, noise-sensitive sites or indoor locations.
The equipment company says the model could help contractors win bids with clients who value or require reduced environmental impacts, as its electric power drive delivers the same performance as a diesel equivalent with no compromises in lifting capacity or breakout force.
JCB says the 19C-1E’s lithium-ion batteries provide a full day of work and can be charged on 120-volt household current or via a 240-volt connection or with a 480-volt fast charger.
The electric-powered excavator can be served by a portable and free-standing universal, rapid charging unit also offered by JCB it says can charge machines within 1 hour and 40 minutes.
Another mini excavator on display from JCB, the 35Z MEX, is a zero-tail swing, rubber-tracked, 3 1/2-ton machine that comes Rototilt-ready with a standard thumb attachment and two- and four-way dozer options.
JCB says generous space in the operator cab provides a flat floor and a hands-free Bluetooth radio with a media socket for all-day operator comfort.
Also in New Orleans is a Case 3CX 14 backhoe loader. That model features the JCB EcoMAX designed to offer fuel-efficient matching of the transmission and hydraulics. “The 360-degree view from the operator position enables enhanced comfort, productivity and safety,” JCB says.
The 2TS-7T skid steer loader model being displayed by JCB features a telescopic boom. “More lift height and reach than any other machine in the skid steer loader class,” JCB says of the model. The 2TS-7T offers 11 feet, 10 inches of lift height, 6 feet and 11 inches of reach and a dig depth of 2 feet below grade, according to JCB North America.
