Pierluigi Sambolino, who formerly held a global sales position with Italy-based scrap shearing equipment maker Vezzani S.p.A., is now sales manager at GPS Scrap Processing Solutions, also based in Italy.

GPS is an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of scrap processing machinery designed to offer “genuine quality and true value for money.”

“I’m happy to have been invited onboard to work with GPS for quite a number of reasons,” Sambolino tells Recycling Today. “First is a long professional friendship I have with the owner Marco Garuti. We both have many years of experience in the sector and know scrap processing extremely well.

“Marco and myself have the same ideas, ideals and approach, so working with Marco is a natural for me. We make a good team and we understand each other. Becoming the general sales manager is a nerve center role, and I’m pleased and flattered that Marco has underscored his trust in my abilities by creating this new position and brining me into GPS.”

The GPS product line includes stationary and mobile scrap metal shears and balers, including the 800-ton HS shear and the Predator HS baler. Company co-owner Garuti spent eight years with equipment makers Lollini International and more than a decade with Sierra Europe, both based in Italy. Garuti calls the GPS product line “fruit of the great legacy left to us by Lollini International.”

“We have a good, well-thought-out range of machinery to offer that can satisfy most needs," Sambolino says. "I’m proud to be a part of this great and growing team. And, working with Marco is hard work but also filled with good humor, and in sales this is important too—keeping a positive frame of mind is critical.”

The company calls Sambolino’s decision to join GPS “a significant career move” and says the customer satisfaction levels being achieved by GPS were “a driving force behind Sambolino’s decision.”

“The company recognizes that businesses today face the challenge of increasing productivity and quality while reducing manufacturing costs," GPS adds. "By employing advanced manufacturing techniques and innovative technologies, GPS ensures that their scrap processing solutions are not only efficient but also economically viable.

“Pierluigi Sambolino’s decision to embrace the role of sales manager at GPS Scrap Processing Solutions underscores the exceptional qualities that set the company apart. With Sambolino’s expertise and GPS’s commitment to excellence, the future looks promising for the scrap processing industry, as they continue to redefine standards and create new possibilities.”
