Global cement event to present overview of industry’s net zero efforts

Amr Nader, CEO of internationally recognized advisory team A³ & Co., will speak at the event.

Concrete is the second-most-used substance in the world, surpassed only by water; cement is the backbone of concrete.

Decarbonization of cement is a golden opportunity for any economy, not only as a green tool for further sustainable development but also as a strategic catalyst towards circularity that will facilitate methane reduction through using waste from landfills in addition to other economic value.

A global overview of cement and construction evolution towards net zero will be presented at the upcoming Cementitious Materials Congress on April 18-19 in Casablanca, Morocco, by Amr Nader, CEO of the internationally recognized advisory team A³ & Co.

“We believe that built environment though its 35 percent contribution to global GHG [greenhouse gas] emissions if decarbonized in the best technical method with strategic alignment to the economic context of countries, can be an opportunity and driver of sustainable economic growth,” Nader says.

Nader brings over 20 years of experience in the built environment and cement industry across 50-plus countries within the Middle East, Africa, Europe and North America. With a background in Chemical Engineering and a degree in digital business from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Columbia Business School, Nader has held executive positions at renowned companies like Lafarge, Orascom, ASEC and Yanbu Cement Co.

His expertise has made him a sought-after keynote speaker in the cement industry. As a thought leader, he has led A³ & Co. projects worldwide, driving the cement industry’s decarbonization efforts, reducing carbon while reducing costs and promoting the adoption of clean technology and circular economy principles.
