Fives, a French industrial machinery manufacturer, has introduced the FCB Rhodax 4D, a concrete recycling and recovery solution that merges crushing and grinding applications in a single machine.
The FCB Rhodax 4D is an inertial vibrating cone crusher that uses interparticle compressive grinding and can be used for a wide range of dry process applications, including fused alumina, fired clay, silicon, ferroalloys, mattes, concrete recycling and more.
Key features include:
- Adjustable capacity and particle size distribution, control of ultrafines production and low flakiness index
- Accurate control of the grinding force and high reduction ratio
- Selective crushing using in-bed compressive grinding technology and oscillation motion
- Wear parts made of high chromium cast iron or martensitic steel to reduce wear rate, promising three to four times longer lifetime.
Using a feedstock of gravels, sand and hydrated cement paste, the Rhodax can recycle demolition concrete into new concrete, producing aggregate for concrete, carbonated sand for concrete, carbonated fines for cement and new clinker in cement kiln, according to Fives.
The Rhodax 4K reduces the carbon dioxide footprint in cement by capturing CO2 from cement gas and using it in the recarbonization process, Fives says, and also reduces fines through grinding force control, reducing the energy required.
