Fike launches new fire suppression solution

Fike Corp., a global manufacturer and supplier of fire protection systems that is headquartered in Blue Springs, Missouri, has launched its latest fire suppression solution: Fike Fire Monitors.  

These automatic water cannons can suppress difficult-to-reach fires, often within just 15 seconds of detection, says Fike. The cannons can be combined with Fike flame detectors and high-definition cameras or thermal imaging cameras to create a water-based fire suppression solution. The manufacturer says the system is ideal for environments when total flood suppression either isn’t possible or isn’t preferred. 

Upon detection of a fire, Fike Fire Monitors can be programmed to discharge up to 1,320 gallons of water in a predetermined spray pattern, or a human operator can view live video and control the unit remotely with a joystick, app or computer. Fike says wall-mounted fire monitors offer up to 180 degrees of coverage, while ceiling mounts can reach hazards in a 360-degree area.
