Edge Innovate, a United Kingdom-based industrial machinery manufacturer, has released its new Edge VS750i primary waste shredder, engineered for efficiency and versatility in the industrial waste management setting.

The VS750i is designed to handle a broad range of materials and to meet the diverse needs of modern waste processing facilities, the company says. The shredder is engineered to process bulky, industrial and various other materials, including construction debris, reducing them to manageable piece sizes and lowering the volume of shredded material.

The shredder is able to be positioned near collection points in plants and landfills, Edge says, offering convenience and operational efficiency for operators.

Features include dual 8-foot-2 rotors made from solid steel and equipped with aggressive, Hardox-manufactured rotating knives that run asynchronously in both directions. The rotors are designed to ensure constant material movement, preventing bridging and maximizing processing efficiency, according to the company.

The shredder can handle up to 150 tons per hour depending on input type, knife configuration and loading procedure. Additional features include a 755 horsepower Caterpillar engine, open cutting table, hydraulic hopper extensions, automatic tipping hopper, an intelligent load management system and “One Point” service area for easy maintenance.

“The VS750i is equipped with our advanced intelligent operating system, which includes tramp metal protection,” says Kevin Kelly, product development manager for Edge Innovate. “This system safeguards the shredder from contaminants, preventing asset damage and allowing it to process a wide array of materials swiftly and safely, including municipal solid waste, industrial, commercial and bulky waste. Its multiple chamber configurations enable customization to meet specific product sizing with huge production capacity requirements.”

The shredder was launched at Hillhead 2024 in Buxton, United Kingdom.
