The board of directors for the Chicago-based Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) has named Terri Ward as its executive director and CEO. She previously served as a special advisor to the board’s executive committee and will assume her new role immediately.

She succeeds Becky Caldwell, who became the association’s executive director in April 2022.

“We are thrilled to have someone with Terri’s passion for the industry and knowledge of the materials, markets, processing technology and [the] legislative and regulatory environment take the helm of CDRA,” says Jason Haus, CDRA president and CEO of Dem-Con Cos., Shakopee, Minnesota.

Ward brings more than 30 years of industry experience to her role.

“Terri has a uniquely deep and robust understanding of the CDRA mission and the issues our members face," says Brock Hill, vice president for CDRA and vice president of Premier Recycle Co., San Jose, California. "We look forward to the contributions she will make in her new role."

Ward has been an active member of the association for years and has held a range of volunteer roles. She most recently served on the board as a member-at-large, member of the executive committee and chair of the convention committee. Throughout her career, she has provided consulting services to the waste, recycling and environmental services industry as well as represented technology and machinery suppliers to the industry.

“With the growing importance of sustainability and materials circularity combined with the realization that recycling plays a pivotal role in creating and completing that circularity, it’s an exciting time for the industry," Ward says. "I’m thrilled to step into this role and to collaborate with our members and board to extend and amplify the role CDRA plays and the resources we bring to our community."
