ASTI, a Michigan-based environmental consultancy, has announced it will help host a conference called Brownfields 2023 next August.
ASTI Director of Development Doug Brown says the event was last held in Detroit nearly 15 years ago as Brownfields 2008. At that event, Brown says, “We welcomed 6,000 real estate developers, public officials, community and faith-based organizations, economic developers, professional service providers, attorneys, regulators and financial institutions. In fact, we shattered every record for attendance, sponsorship and deal making.”
Next year’s event has been scheduled for Aug. 8-11 at Huntington Place Convention Center in downtown Detroit. Brown says the event is being organized to offer “unmatched education, development tours, and networking to perfect brownfield redevelopment.”
The event’s organizers also say the federal Infrastructure Law includes “an unprecedented $1.5 billion investment in [the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s] Brownfields program over the next two years.”
Periodically, the U.S. EPA announces awardees of grants and funding tied to brownfield demolition and abatement projects around the country.
An exhibit hall at next year’s conference is being designed to include federal agencies, engineering firms, developers, environmental cleanup companies, legal and financial expertise, nonprofits and other types of organizations, according to the event’s web page.
Brownfield 2023 is the premier event to learn how you can access these grants and maximize your economic, environmental, and social performance. This funding will transform communities into sustainable and environmentally just places, enhance climate resiliency and more.
ASTI says more details on Brownfield 2023 are “coming soon” and will be posted here.
