New York-based Bellet Construction says it has been engaged by Acquavella Galleries, also in New York, “to implement a series of exterior repairs, including on the elegant façade of the prestigious cultural institution.”
Wayne Bellet, president of Bellet Construction, says, “From our perspective, the landmarked limestone façade is tantamount to high art and requires delicate workmanship to maintain its luster. We are very honored to have been chosen for this project.”
Situated in a five-story, French neoclassical-style townhouse near the New York Metropolitan Museum of Art, the century-old gallery contains works from 19th and 20th century artists of several different styles.
In addition to façade maintenance, Bellet Construction will be repairing the chimney, welding a metal staircase and installing a new sidewalk in front of the gallery. The work is scheduled to take place August and September.
Bellet Construction, founded in 1918, describes itself as a third-generation, family owned exterior restoration firm known for its work on landmark and nonlandmark buildings in the metropolitan New York area, specializing in the restoration, maintenance and repair of residential, commercial and industrial properties.
