Fort Erie, Ontario-based Abatement Technologies has opened its new global headquarters in Fort Erie, which is located across the Niagara River from Buffalo, New York.

The new multipurpose, 100,000-square-foot facility houses the company's manufacturing and warehousing operations, as well as its research and administrative departments.

“Within this state-of-the-art facility, Abatement Technologies will leverage innovative manufacturing and production processes to support the company’s long-term growth plans,” says Abatement Technologies, which provides construction containment products designed to protect workers in asbestos abatement and other specialized construction settings.

The new headquarters allows Abatement Technologies to bring together under one roof processes that previously had been spread across multiple sites. The company currently has 170 employees in North America, with 100 located in the Fort Erie area.

“Over the past 24 months, we have been working diligently to build a world-class facility that will serve as our new headquarters and house our production and administrative teams,” Abatement Technologies CEO Andrew Harber says.

“Fort Erie has been home to the Abatement name since 1985, and we’re excited to continue to build our brand in a community we love. We’re pleased to announce that we have officially made this new facility our home.”

The firm started as Harber Manufacturing in1946, when it was founded by Blair Harber Sr. The company transitioned into Abatement Technologies in 1985 and has carried that same name into its third generation of family ownership and operation.

“Abatement Technologies was founded on the skilled labor and support from the Fort Erie community,” Andrew Harber says. “Now, 38 years later, we are still leveraging local talent and creating new opportunities for our community members. As we continue to expand, we will need to fill roles in various departments, including manufacturing, IT, marketing, research, finance, and overall operations. We have ambitious growth plans and are committed to achieving them right here in Fort Erie.”

The company’s product line includes high efficiency particulate air filtration and construction containment equipment for environments such including asbestos abatement, disaster restoration sites and health facilities.
