
Volvo Construction Equipment EC230 Electric

Volvo Construction Equipment, with North American headquarters in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, has introduced the EC230 Electric, a 23-ton electric excavator that the company says boasts the same performance as its conventional, diesel counterpart. Its features include:
- sixty percent to 70 percent lower energy costs than its diesel-powered equivalent, the EC220E
- charging via 240-volt alternating current setup or fast-charging direct current
- the ability to run for an eight-hour workday with a high-power charge during a lunch break
- low noise, low emissions and low total cost of ownership compared with the EC220E

Fike Corp.’s Fike Fire Monitors

Blue Springs, Missouri-based Fike Corp., a global manufacturer of fire protection systems, has launched Fike Fire Monitors. The water cannon is designed to reach specific areas without flooding an entire facility or site, protecting equipment and other materials. The Fire Monitors also can:
- be combined with Fike flame detectors and high-definition cameras or thermal imaging cameras to create a comprehensive water-based fire suppression solution
- automatically discharge up to 1,320 gallons of water in a predetermined spray pattern or be operated via a live video stream and controlled remotely with a joystick, app or computer
- extinguish fires in hard-to-reach locations, sometimes within 15 seconds of detection
- provide 180 degrees of coverage when wall-mounted or 360 degrees when ceiling-mounted

Werk-Brau box grapple line

Werk-Brau, Findlay, Ohio, has introduced a series of box grapple attachments suited for heavy demolition use and a variety of other applications, including brush clearing and moving rocks and other debris. Available in 21 sizes, the grapple’s features include:
- ribbed, internal gusseting to strengthen the main body of the attachment
- curl and dump angles consistent with the original equipment manufacturer's specifications for the machine
