Bandit to offer Arjes industrial shredders and rock crushers
Bandit Industries Inc., Remus, Michigan, and Leimbach, Germany-based Arjes GmbH announced they have partnered to bring Arjes’ line of slow-speed shredders and crushers to Bandit customers worldwide.
Bandit is adding Arjes’ select models of slow-speed industrial shredders and stone crushers to its lineup of heavy-duty large equipment that already includes The Beast horizontal grinders, whole-tree chippers and track carriers.
Bandit large equipment dealers from select markets are offering sales, service and parts on Arjes machines. Those Bandit dealers were introduced to Arjes equipment in early June at Bandit’s mid-Michigan facilities.
“Arjes equipment fits perfectly in our full product line,” Jason Morey, Bandit sales manager, says. “Arjes believes in the same principles that guide Bandit Industries: build machines strong and stand behind customers every step of the way. It’s what both of our companies have done—Bandit for 35 years and Arjes for more than 10 years—and it’s what we’ll continue to do.”
The Arjes VZ 950 Titan slow-speed shredder can handle material of nearly any kind, the company says. The 950 comes standard with a Volvo 700 horsepower Bandit Tier 4 Final engine. Special designs help these shredders operate more efficiently, Arjes says, stretching out fuel and extending the life of cutting tools. The VZ 950 Titan can handle material ranging from waste wood and logs to domestic and industrial waste and scrap metal/car bodies.
Arjes stone crushers come with a Volvo 220 horsepower Tier 4 Final engine and consolidate rock-crushing power in a compact package. The tracked unit makes it easy to position in work yards and on job sites, the company says, and the machine’s special two-stage crushing process handles the hardest materials, from rubble, concrete, asphalt and stones.

BossTek extends product warranty
BossTek, Peoria, Illinois, has announced an upgrade to the company’s product warranty. The company has increased its warranty from a 3-year/3,000-hour to a 5-year/5,000-hour replacement warranty on the direct drive fan motor of its entire dust suppression product line.
The demand for atomized mist dust suppression technology has increased since air quality inspectors now test for smaller, nonvisible fugitive particle sizes (less than 10 microns in diameter), BossTek says. Previously, industries like demolition, bulk product storage and ports have controlled dust by applying surface suppression using water sprayed from hoses, which creates droplets from 200 to 1,000 microns in size. But over time, BossTek says, operators have discovered that to control dust emissions, droplet sizes must roughly match the size of airborne particulates.
Available in four sizes depending on the needs of the application, a single DustBoss unit is designed to cover up to five football fields with mist droplets approximately 50 to 200 microns in diameter.
DustBoss units are designed to be a one-touch operation, allowing workers to turn them on and walk away. The maximum amount of water used is 39 gallons per minute, average around 17 gallons per minute, and the fans are guarded against reach-in injury, the company says.
The cannons can be mounted on a tower, steel skid or wheeled frame. They can also be purchased as Fusion units that feature an enclosed tank and generator set on a trailer for applications that lack easy access to water and power or require portability. The direct drive motor in those designs is also covered under the new parts warranty.
“This warranty demonstrates commitment to our customers,” Edwin Peterson, BossTek CEO, says. “When they revisit their dust control plans in the face of changing regulations, we want them to be confident that they are getting the highest quality product on the market, with the best return on investment.”
