McCloskey holds international equipment demonstration
McCloskey, Ontario, Canada, held its first multi-spread demonstration event at King Bros. Quarry in County Armagh, Northern Ireland, in November to highlight its equipment offerings. McCloskey says the demonstrations were an integral part of events tailored to familiarize both new and established dealers with the company’s latest products.
More than 70 attendees participated in guided tours and a Q&A session with McCloskey experts. The two-day event also featured factory tours of the Granville and Killyman facilities and a dealer forum.
For the demonstrations, McCloskey arranged the equipment in combinations of crushing, screening and stacking applications, with one dedicated to showcase the newest compact crushers on the market. Material varied over the three spreads and showed the end-product delivered in demolition and blasting applications.
The first demonstration featured a J44 jaw crusher, a C38 cone crusher, a 100-foot stacker and an S190 Triple Deck screener. The jaw was fed 600x600-millimeter blasted rock, producing output sizes at 3- to 4-inch-minus. That went into the cone, which McCloskey says outputs high-quality material at 24-millimeter-minus. The material then went to McCloskey’s S190 Triple Deck screener to deliver four products ranging from 22-millimeter-plus oversize to 12-millimeter-minus fines. The equipment working in tandem allowed dealers to observe the process from beginning to end for aggregate customers, McCloskey says.
The second demonstration area featured the J45 jaw crusher feeding crushed aggregate into the R155 reclaimer. Demonstrators fed the J45 material in at 500-millimeter-minus and it output 45-inch-minus to the screener, which then stockpiled three products ranging from 80-millimeter-plus to 30-millimeter-minus fines. The third demonstration area showcased new compact crushers, the I34R recirculating impact crusher and the J35 jaw crusher. McCloskey says the new crushers are able to move nimbly around tight spaces while crushing, can be easily transported site to site, and are uniquely suited to a number of applications, including aggregates, construction and demolition and recycling.
“We are deeply appreciative for the opportunity King Bros. gave us to demonstrate our equipment at their quarry. The perfect weather, combined with this perfect venue, made the event a resounding success on every level. We extend our sincere thanks to them, as well as to all those who joined us. We were delighted with the turnout,” says McCloskey International Sales Director Steve Walls. “The demonstrations, coupled with the dealer forum, have set a new model for us to assist dealers in developing and delivering high-productivity solutions for customers.”
People from more than 27 McCloskey Dealerships representing 21 countries attended the event.Sierra to expand manufacturing facility
In response to demand for the Sierra REB line of two-ram balers and conveyors, Bakersfield, California-based Sierra International Machinery has announced a 24,000-square-foot expansion to its manufacturing facility in Jesup, Georgia. This expansion will allow Sierra to increase production and meet the demand for the full Sierra product line, the company says.
This will be the third expansion Sierra has added to its Georgia facility since it opened in 2008.
“We are proud to announce the expansion of our facility in Jesup, Georgia,” says John Sacco, the president and owner of Sierra International Machinery. “The success of our two-ram balers and conveyors in the waste sector has grown exponentially—far more than we initially anticipated—which can be largely contributed to our new REB-4 two-ram baler that has surpassed all expectations. With this type of growth, the expansion was necessary to meet the demand for the Sierra catalog.”
While every machine in the Sierra product line passes through the Georgia facility, every Sierra two-ram baler and conveyor is fully engineered, manufactured and assembled in Georgia. Sierra offers three different two-ram models, including the patent-pending REB-4 with dual-compression doors, along with many conveyor models. Once completed, Sierra’s Georgia manufacturing facility will be 72,000 square feet and will provide additional job opportunities in the Jesup area.
