Motion to acquire International Conveyor and Rubber
Motion Industries Inc., a Birmingham, Alabama-based distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts and provider of industrial technology solutions, has signed a definitive purchase agreement to acquire the operating assets of International Conveyor and Rubber (ICR), based in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. The transaction was expected to close by the end of 2024.
ICR services commercial and industrial customers in the eastern United States. The company has seven locations, offering sales, installation, repair and maintenance of conveyor belts and related system products. It also provides engineering and design services for custom solutions.
ICR serves a variety of industries, including mining and aggregates, power generation, oil and gas, construction, steel manufacturing, building materials manufacturing, package handling and distribution, wood/pulp/paper, cement and asphalt, recycling and marine terminals.
“It’s a perfect match—both companies are dedicated to their customers and share the same core values,” says Kory Krinock, one of ICR’s owner-operators. “We look forward to enhancing our services and customer value proposition while contributing to Motion’s growth.”
With 150 employees, ICR will join Motion’s business unit Motion Conveyance Solutions. Motion Conveyance Solutions provides value-added solutions and services, specializing in fluid conveyance, critical moving parts, conveyor belting, hose, rubber parts and field services. With a network of nationwide belt specialists, customers receive full field support, on-site expertise, hands-on training and more across industries, the company says.
“ICR is highly complementary to Motion, adding seven strategic locations that expand our reach,” Motion President James Howe says. “ICR introduces new customers and end markets, allowing us to broaden our offerings. We are thrilled to welcome the highly talented ICR employees to the Motion team, including Kory and the other owner-operators, who will continue to play an integral role in the business.”

Tenamec adds Virginia dealership
Luxemburg, Wisconsin-based Tenamec, the parent company of recycling equipment makers Builtrite, DRKHorse, SAS Forks and Lemco, has added Jewell Machinery as a new dealer in Virginia.
Founded in 2000 in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Jewell Machinery serves the forestry, construction, solid waste and metal recycling markets by offering several heavy machinery equipment brands.
According to Tenamec, the dealership also excels at custom designing and fabricating equipment to meet specific customer requirements, with a long-standing tradition of serving its customers in the Mid-Atlantic.
“We are looking for dealers that fit our model of supporting niche markets within the construction equipment industry like scrap handling and processing, waste handling and forestry,” says Andy Waszil, Northeast regional manager at Tenamec. “Jewell’s experience in these markets and their willingness to customize their equipment to meet customers’ specific needs, along with their extensive knowledge of hydraulics and the electronics that run them, make them an ideal partner for us.”
Jewell Machinery will be responsible for selling and servicing Builtrite stationary electric material handlers and its line of attachments; DRKHorse shears, concrete crushers and grapples; and SAS Forks’ line of heavy-duty loader forks, the SAS Extreme auto dismantling system and the SAS Scorpion engine puller.
“We are very excited to bring on the Tenamec line of products, which will help us expand our presence into markets we already serve,” Jewell Machinery President Mike Jewell says. “This partnership just seems to make a lot of sense for both companies, and we look forward to working with the Tenamec team.”
