Eco-Crusher Hawaii Opens New Facility

Eco-Crusher Hawaii, a dealer for Shamong, N.J.-based Giberson Enterprises LLC, has opened a new facility in Hilo, Hawaii.

The company unveiled the 6,000-square-foot facility with an open house on Dec. 15, 2007.

The new facility will house inventory of all Eco-Crusher excavator-mounted jaw crusher bucket models and wear parts, so the dealer can immediately serve customers on all of Hawaii’s islands.

More than 100 contractors, suppliers, friends and family members attended the open house event, which featured a variety of island food and a traditional Hawaiian blessing ceremony.

"This new facility allows us to keep inventory, so we can ship a bucket immediately when a customer needs one," says Herman Ludwis, owner of Eco-Crusher Hawaii. "I can easily demonstrate the bucket crushing material on our job sites, and then instead of waiting months for shipping, we can have a bucket or wear parts in their hands in a few days."

The Eco-Crusher line includes the BF60 for 10-ton or larger excavators; the BF70 for 15-ton or larger excavators; the BF90 for 25-ton or larger excavators and the BF120 for 40-ton or larger excavators.

Production rates range from 15 tons per hour on the smallest style bucket up to 99 tons per hour on the largest. The bucket crushes a maximum input product thickness of 15 inches-minus for recyclable material and 10 inches-minus for rock, into an end product that ranges from 6 inches to a 1-inch minus.

Stanley LaBounty Introduces Line of Bucket Linkage Shears

Stanley LaBounty, Two Harbors, Minn., has introduced a new generation of its Bucket Linkage Shears, the models BLS 2000 and BLS 3000.

Several upgrades were incorporated into these products to improve their performance and reduce maintenance.

These improvements include:

• Incorporating the patented, Saber Series blade system. These shears feature the 180-degree reversible Saber Tip and lower cross blade to provide the same benefit as seen with the successful MSD Saber Series Shears. Tapped cutting blades allow the shear blades to be easily removed. With more bolt-on components, maintenance time is significantly reduced.

• Increasing the amount of high strength steel in critical areas and increasing pin sizes to withstand the higher forces generated by today’s more powerful excavators.

• Fully wrapping the pivot group to protect these vita components from damage.

These shears do not require additional hydraulics to operate, since they use the excavator’s existing bucket cylinder and linkage, according to the manufacturer. They are designed especially for cutting lighter structural steel such as I beams, H beams, pipe, rebar and other structures where a larger shear is not required.

Currently, two models are being introduced—the BLS 2000 for machines in the 40,000-to 65,000-pound class and the BLS 3000 for machines in the 65,000- to 85,000-pound class.

Telsmith Introduces Products

Telsmith Inc., an Astec company based in Mequon, Wis., has introduced its new line of inclined vibrating screens, the Vibro-King TL series.

Replacing the existing Vibro-King and Specmaker screen lines, the new Vibro-King TL screen boasts longer service life, reduced maintenance and lower operating costs than its predecessors, according to the manufacturer.

The TL shaft assembly has a "never-wear" seal design that is meant to eliminate contact seals, reducing maintenance and providing longer service life. All TL shaft assemblies use wide-series bearings and polished shaft bearing journals. Minimal maintenance is ensured via its large-diameter shaft casing that boosts oil volume to allow lower operating temperatures and fewer oil changes.

Multiple flat and crowned deck designs are available, allowing the Vibro-King TL to work with all screen media types. Also, deck spacing between the top and middle decks has been increased to simplifying screen media changes.

Available in both single and dual-shaft models and in sizes ranging from 5-feet by 14-feet up to 8-feet by 24-feeet, the Vibro-King TL line is available in both standard and heady duty models, with all HD models featuring ½-inch thick side plates.

Spring mounts incorporate a "jacking bracket" providing safe, speedy access for spring maintenance.

Telsmith has also introduced the Model SBX Cone Crusher. It represents an evolution in design from the SBS cone crushers and is engineered with new internal components and crushing chamber profiles that allow it to accept larger feed. The SBX is designed for secondary crushing circuits that once required larger crushers.

Its features include a Dynamic Adjust system that enables remote adjustment under load; a maintenance-free hydraulic anti-spin system that extends manganese life; a large stroke chamber clearing system that delivers safe and quick recovery from a shutdown and heavy duty components for reliable, low cost crushing.

The SBX Cone Crusher Series is available in three models—the 44SBX (300 hp), 52SBX (400 hp) and the 57SBX (500 hp).

Telsmith will debut both produce lines at ConExpo-Con/Agg, which will be held March 11-15, 2008, in Las Vegas.

Terex Finlay Expands Operations

Terex Finlay, based in Omagh, Northern Ireland, has completed a £2.1 million investment (US$4.135 million) in plant processes and facilities to help in its continued growth.

The facility consists of two larger units, each of which has 500 meters of floor space, and a smaller unit which has 350 meters of floor space.

The company says that this enables one complete unit to be sprayed at a time, making the process more energy-efficient than traditional painting systems.

In addition to the new paint facility, the company has also invested in two new manufacturing sites which will provide an additional 35,000 square feet of floor space, a new 15,000-square-foot spares facility and a new office building to accommodate additional staff.

"Terex Finlay’s key to success has been continued investment in our company. Our aim is to instill a culture of lifelong learning and continuous improvement, therefore encouraging our employees to be the best they can be and to provide them with the most up-to-date equipment and processes to do their job. We are reaping the rewards from this investment as we become a world-class leader in the mobile crushing and screening industry," says Paul O’Donnell, Terex Finlay’s general manager.

Terex Finlay manufactures mobile crushing, screening and recycling equipment.

Miller Waste Installs SSI Shredder

SSI Shredding Systems, Wilsonville, Ore., has announced that The Miller Group of Ontario, Canada, has selected SSI to provide a low-speed/high torque shredder for its Pickering, Ontario, in-vessel composting facility.

The SSI Model M100 Dual-Shear shredder is processing household organic waste at rates of 20-30 tons per hour. According to a spokesman Mike Kopansky at Miller Waste, the single-step shredding operation reduces the material down to sizes similar to what a tub grinder would produce with a 2-inch screen.

The SSI M100 shredder features reliable low-speed technology and no integral screen is required. This results in high processing rates and minimal maintenance, according to the manufacturer. SSI engineered a special cutter configuration designed to achieve the highest processing rate and the smallest particle size in a one-step "no screen" operation.

The SSI M100E cutters are 20 inches in diameter and weigh 80 pounds each. A series of cutters on dual, 52-inch long shafts rotate at a low speed of 21 rpm. The driveline incorporates a patented clutch to protect the system from damage due to non-shreddables. The system has a 12-step labyrinth seal protection system at each end of the cutting chamber designed to protect the bearings in the composting environment.
