World Demolition Summit hosts first US-based event
The eighth World Demolition Summit will be held in the U.S. for the first time, moving from its usual Amsterdam venue to Miami.
The event, which is a combined conference and awards dinner, will be held Oct. 14 at the Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay hotel.
The conference will have speakers from the U.S., Europe, New Zealand and Japan with topics including site reports, equipment trends, safety and recycling. The evening awards dinner will see companies from 15 countries compete in 11 award categories.
The summit is organized by Demolition & Recycling International (D&Ri) magazine and KHL Group, with Construction & Demolition Recycling magazine being a media partner for the event.
“The summit has become a great meeting place for the international demolition sector,” says Steve Ducker, editor of D&Ri, “with more than 250 delegates from all over the world coming together to learn from each other and network.
“Having the event in the USA for the first time will further internationalize the event, and give the U.S. demolition and recycling sector an international perspective on their industry.”
Among the speakers are Brian Hornyak, vice president, Sabre Demolition; Hiroshi Konno, president & CEO, Akashigumi Co.; Mike Casbon, technical director, ERM; Mark Lies, partner, Seyfarth Shaw; Roberto Folchi, mining engineer, Nitrex SRL; Ahmed Amir Khalil, vice president, Applied Science International; Dr. Jan Kupec, technical director, ground engineering, Aurecon Group.
