Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., based in Wilmington, Mass., has introduced the Thermo Scientific microPHAZIR AS, a handheld analyzer designed for screening and identification of asbestos- containing materials. Features include:
- Enables accurate screening of potential asbestos-containing materials to minimize work delays, inspection costs due to sample processing and help ensure worker safety during material handling
- Powered by near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy, which is an analytical technique used in laboratories for quality analysis and for material identification

4. Atlas Copco SBU 220 Hydraulic Breaker
Atlas Copco, Commerce City, Colo., has introduced the SBU 220 hydraulic breaker, which features a patented one-piece housing construction. Features include:
- With an operating weight of 494 pounds and a tool shank diameter of 2.56 inches, the SBU 220 hydraulic breaker is intended for carriers ranging from 6,150- to 13,230-pounds
- The unit features the Atlas Copco VibroSilenced system with sound pressure rated at 89 dB(A) (decibel A-weighting) and sound power at 118 dB(A) designed to allow the unit to work close to schools, hospitals and other areas where noise can be an issue
- Designed to be well-suited for use in confined spaces such as indoor demolition work, along buildings and for narrow trenching
