1. West Salem Machinery Waterfall Disc Screen. West Salem Machinery (WSM), Salem, Ore., has announced the development of a new screening design—the WSM Waterfall disc screen. Features include:

• Designed to deliver high-capacity fines screening and to improve screening efficiency because of increased material agitation
• Uses multiple-roll screening decks that agitate and tumble the mat of material being screened as it falls from level to level
• Tumbling movement is similar to a waterfall in that the mat is blended as it falls and fine particles that were in the upper portion now have a chance to be screened on the lower deck
• Tight spacing between discs allows a variety of fiber materials (bark, chips, sawdust, shavings, hogged wood, compost) to be sorted by size (thickness and length)

2. Kobelco SK350LC Excavator. Kobelco Construction Machinery USA, Houston, has introduced the SK350LC model to its line of excavators. Kobelco says the SK350 is among the company’s largest crawler excavator models. Features include:

• A 270-horsepower HINO engine
• Three engine modes allow operators to switch between maximum power and low fuel consumption based on the job
• A digging force of 50,582 pounds, a dig depth of close to 25 feet, a 1.57- to 2.09-cubic-yard bucket and a swing speed of 10 rpm
• An independent travel circuit is designed to allow the excavator to travel, dig and lift simultaneously without a loss of power
• Self-lubricating bushings at the attachment pins and abrasion resistant bushings near the bucket are included to enhance durability

3. Atlas Copco Bucket Crushers. Atlas Copco, Commerce City, Colo., has added a line of bucket crushers to its silent demolition tool range of hydraulic attachments. Features of the rig-mounted bucket crushers include:

• Solve job site waste management issues by recycling asphalt, stone and concrete debris as well as mine, quarry and trench material
• Output size adjusts from 0.5 to 4.75 inches or from 0.5 to 4 inches in the BC 1500 model
• The top and bottom jaws can be replaced or single jaws can be rotated by 180 degrees to provide for more even wear and longer service life, says the company

4. Unified SuperFlow Screens. SuperFlow screens from Unified Screening & Crushing, Stuart, Fla., are a hybrid of wire cloth and urethane support strips that allow each wire to vibrate independently. Features include:

• Designed to perform with stone, sand, granite, recycling, asphalt, topsoil and green waste
• Reduction in plugging and blinding
