Terex Fuchs Honors Company Wrench as Top Distributor
Terex Construction Americas, based in Southaven, Miss., has recognized Company Wrench Ltd., Carroll, Ohio, as the top distributor of Terex Fuchs material handlers for 2011.
While Company Wrench says it has been one of Terex Fuchs’s top distributors for several years, this is the first time Company Wrench has been selected to receive the No. 1 Terex Fuchs equipment distributor award.
Company Wrench was selected for the award because of its continued growth with the material handler line, top sales performance and superior service support of the customer, according to Terex.
“Starting with Brad Hutchinson (owner of Company Wrench) and carrying through to the sales and service personnel, the entire Company Wrench team is passionate beyond belief about ensuring the customer’s success,” says Dean Barley, general manager of Terex Construction Americas. “It’s rewarding to work with a distributor like Company Wrench, whose philosophy and dedication to the customer is in line with our commitment to the success of the customer.”
Accepting the Terex Fuchs award were Hutchinson; Gary Gleckler, president; Scott Carpenter, CFO; and Cam Gabbard, vice president of Company Wrench.
“It’s an honor to have our team’s dedication to the Terex Fuchs line recognized with this number one distributor award,” says Hutchinson. “With our focus on the scrap and demolition industries, the Terex Fuchs line was a natural fit to our equipment offering. As a result, the relationship has allowed us to offer more solutions for our customers and has resulted in a huge infusion of growth for our company.”
Company Wrench began 13 years ago when Hutchinson started a truck, trailer and equipment shop in Fairfield County, Ohio. At the time, the company offered 24-hour, seven-day-a-week wrecker and recovery service.
In 2002 Company Wrench turned its focus to the demolition market, representing a line of specialty hydraulic attachments.
In 2005, Terex Construction Americas began its relationship with Company Wrench, which provided local sales and service support for Terex Fuchs scrap and recycling customers in Ohio.
This gave Company Wrench a full line of purpose-built material handlers designed for the scrap, recycling and demolition markets. According to Terex, Company Wrench quickly became a top-performing distributor for its material handling line.
“We took the same philosophy of 24-7 repair services demanded by the customer in the heavy wrecker business and adapted it to the scrap business for the Terex Fuchs line,” comments Gleckler. “We also offer a buy-back program as part of our support package.”
Company Wrench has grown from one to 12 locations in six years.
The No. 1 Terex Fuchs equipment distributor award was presented to Company Wrench officials by Terex Construction Americas representatives Dean Barley, Chris Koch and Kristy Jennings in a ceremony held on May 1, 2012, at Company Wrench’s headquarters.
Van Dyk Baler, Lubo USA Unveil New Corporate Identity
Sister companies Van Dyk Baler Corp. and Lubo USA LLC, Stamford, Conn., have combined under a single corporate identity: Van Dyk Recycling Solutions. The companies announced the new name, which they say was selected to encompass the wide range of products and services they offer, at the 2012 WasteExpo in May in Las Vegas.
Van Dyk Baler Corp. and Lubo USA will continue to be the legal entities.
“Since our beginning some 28 years ago, we have been the exclusive distributor for Bollegraaf Recycling Solutions of The Netherlands. That close alliance remains intact. However, our business and the markets we serve have changed dramatically from the days when we simply offered balers and in-feed conveyors.” says CEO Pieter Eenkema van Dijk. “The new name reflects our commitment to the emerging markets we are now serving in addition to building single-stream MRFs.”
Van Dyk Recycling Solutions has recently completed projects in plastics recycling, waste-to-energy processing, e-scrap and commercial single-stream recovery.
“We are currently completing projects designed to handle all of the recyclables for the state of Rhode Island, the city of Toronto and all five boroughs of New York City,” Eenkema van Dijk adds.
Originally founded in 1984 as Van Dyk Baler Corp., the company specialized in providing Bollegraaf balers to the North American recycling industry. The business has expanded throughout the years into fully integrated recycling plants combining Bollegraaf balers and sorting systems, Lubo screens, Titech optical sorting technology and other equipment, such as trommels, light/heavy separation technology and ballistic separators.
Bulk Handling Systems Acquires NRT
Bulk Handling Systems (BHS), a company that designs, engineers, manufactures and installs sorting systems and components for the solid waste, recycling, waste-to-energy and construction and demolition industries, has acquired National Recovery Technologies (NRT), a Nashville-based company that designs and manufactures optical sorting equipment for the solid waste and recycling industries. BHS is headquartered in Eugene, Ore.
“We’re pleased to add NRT to the BHS family,” says Steve Miller, BHS CEO. “NRT was founded by some of the brightest scientific minds in the industry, and its values have been based on technology innovation, quality of manufacturing and a strong commitment to customer support, values that BHS has as well. Today, NRT produces the best optical technology on the market, which strengthens BHS’ position as a global leader in providing the most state-of-the-art and durable material recovery systems in the industry.”
NRT, founded in 1981, owns or is the exclusive licensee of 29 U.S. patents and five foreign patents covering NIR (near infrared), X-ray, laser, and line camera sorting systems. According to a BHS news release, NRT has significant expertise in plastic bottle and flake sorting technology. BHS says NRT has the world’s largest installed capacity in PET plastic reclamation plants.
Liebherr Introduces Material Handler Training Simulator
Liebherr Construction Equipment Co., Newport News, Va., has introduced a Material Handler Training Simulator. The company says it partnered with Simlog based in Montreal to develop what it says is the industry’s first affordable, high-quality training simulator. According to Liebherr, the simulator depicts the operation of a Liebherr wheeled material handler in a realistic environment performing scrap handling activities.
“Training simulators have come from costly show pieces to more affordable and practical applications in everyday operator training,” observes Mark Rangos, general manager, product support for Liebherr Construction Equipment Co.
The company says the new simulator provides multiple operating scenarios and measures the performance of the trainee during his/her training session. It is available in basic and advanced versions: The basic version uses a tabletop steering wheel, foot pedals and Liebherr-type joysticks; while the advanced version adds an operator seat and industrial steering wheel. Both versions can be used on a mid-range laptop or desktop computer.
