Terex Finlay adds to cone crusher line

The C-1554 tracked mobile cone crusher provides large reduction ratios and a cubical shape in the surface ore mining and aggregate industries.

Terex Finlay, based in Omagh, Northern Ireland, has added a cone crusher to its range of tracked mobile cone crushers. The new C-1554 cone crusher is ideal for any aggregates producer or contractor looking for a high output capacity machine that provides large reduction ratios and a cubical shape in the surface ore mining and aggregate industries, according to the company.

Terex Finlay says the aggressive machine incorporates the Terex MVP450x cone crusher that can accept an all in-feed and features direct variable speed clutch drive and hydraulic closed side setting (CSS) adjustment. The Terex MVP450x cone crusher pulverizes material and features a patented Rollercone® roller bearing design and the hydropneumatic tramp iron relief system, Terex Finlay says. These features combine to give operators an efficient and aggressive crushing action, high performance and low cost per ton, according to the company.

The large hopper/feeder on the plant features an automated metal detection and a purge system designed to protect the cone and reduce downtime by removing metal contaminants via the purge chute.

Alan Witherow, Terex Finlay product development manager, says, “We knew that this new model would give be a game changer in terms of production capacity. The increased productivity, functionality and serviceability of the MVP450x chamber has consistently impressed operators of the machine during testing. The results have been outstanding and ultimately will deliver significant revenue streams and profitability for our customers.”

He adds, “Additional benefits include, rapid set up time, ease of maintenance, high reduction ratio, advanced plant electronic control system, high output capacity and telemetry system.”

Key features of the plant, according to the company, include:

  • fully hydraulic CSS adjustment with electronic monitoring system ensures ease of operation;
  • fuel-efficient direct drive transmission through wet clutch;
  • hydraulic tramp relief system with automatic reset protects the chamber and minimizes downtime; and
  • metal detection system on feed belt with ‘auto-stop’ protects the cone from tramp metal and the purge system removes contaminants from the machine.
