CBI to demonstrate equipment at the Mid-Atlantic Logging & Biomass Expo

The equipment manufacturer will bring grinders and chippers to the event in Laurinburg, North Carolina, Sept. 15-16.

Continental Biomass Industries (CBI), Newton, New Hampshire, will be exhibiting at the 2017 Mid-Atlantic Logging & Biomass Expo held in Laurinburg, North Carolina Sept. 15-16. Guests will have two days to see live demonstrations of CBI’s wood grinders and commercial wood chippers. The CBI exhibit will be located just inside the entrance at Live Site 1. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for both days of the show, with live CBI demos happening throughout the event.

“CBI is partnering with Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic to showcase leading forestry equipment at the show,” says Art Murphy, director of sales and marketing for Terex Environmental Equipment, CBI’s parent company. “Powerscreen Mid-Atlantic has done an outstanding job representing the CBI and Ecotec lines in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. The best part about a live demo show like the Mid-Atlantic Logging & Biomass Expo is that the machines speak for themselves, and we welcome the opportunity to go head to head with the competition. Nothing beats seeing a CBI machine run in person and afterwards climbing up on it and taking a closer look.”

The tentative list of show machines includes:

  • CBI ChipMax 484B portable wood chipper, which is a whole tree chipper that features two rotor options and is able to make fuel chips custom sized from 12 to 22 millimeters or “micro-chips” from 2 to 12 millimeters from logs up to 24 inches in diameter;
  • Magnum Force 5800BT horizontal grinder, which was developed to feature the same principles of the CBI 6800BT grinder but is built for contractors dealing with lower production needs or transportation restrictions; and
  • Magnum Force 6800BT horizontal grinder, which has been specifically designed for land clearing companies and yard waste processors who demand high-volume throughput. It’s designed to process land clearing debris, pallets, clean industrial waste, stumps and logs to produce mulch through its regrinding capability.
